Seven days of ABSolute Health & Fitness — your gym!

-

ABSOLUTE Health & Fitness is turning seven on the 1st of July and celebrating in style with ‘‘Seven days of ABSolute’’.

There will be an open day on Saturday July 7 with free classes, access to the gym and plenty of giveaways. In the week leading up to this, there will be daily promotions, free classes open to the public and more giveaways.

With the motto ‘‘Your gym!’’, ABSolute prides itself on providing health and fitness services for everyone, being there for the community with knowledgeable advice and a friendly ear. ABSolute is a fullservice gym with a wide range of cardio and weights equipment.

They offer over 50 groupfitness classes each week and topquality awardwinning personal training (together having over 40 years’ personaltraining experience).

Open 15 hours a day throughout the week and nine hours a day over the weekends, there are always staff available to provide advice and ensure you are in the best hands while you exercise. When it seems everything is becoming automated, from your bank teller to the supermarket checkout, to the librarian, some days it’s just lovely to talk to someone who is not a robot.

All are welcome at ABSolute, no matter goals, age, gender or ability. The oldest member is 88, and at the kids’ classes there are children as young as 8 learning about exercise. Classes are structured for everybody, and there are specialist groups such as running groups, and agespecific classes, and they can even cater bootcamps to your needs.

In fact, the cast of Priscilla,

Queen of the Desert recently spent six weeks getting frockfit with Richard at ABSolute’s bootcamp. This really is a community gym at the heart of South Dunedin. In addition, they offer a childcare service so busy parents can leave the little ones entertained and have some muchneeded ‘‘me’’ time; SPS Physio has three physios onsite, and all your beauty needs are catered for by ABSolute Beauty.

Since opening in 2011, ABSolute has won Club of the Year in their relevant category in 2011, 2013, and in the most recent awards in November 2017 at the New Zealand Exercise Industry Awards. Their trainers have also won individual awards as upandcoming trainers and mentors over the years.

Feedback from awards and members suggests that it’s the fantastic customerservice and the vibe when you walk in the door to work out here that makes ABSolute finalists, and winners, year after year. ‘‘Our members really do love coming here,’’ says owner Richard McKinlay.

With student and Gold Card discounts, concessions and casual rates for the commitmentphobes, there is no excuse not to give it a try. Come and see the friendly team at one of the many events over the week from July 17 (follow ABSolute on Facebook to find out what’s on), give their classes and gym a try, and have a look around.
