Charity fundraisin­g night a knockout

Five hundred people donned their finest suits and dresses, enjoyed a threecours­e meal provided sy Oamaru restaurate­ur QallyAnn Donnelly, and watched 20 amateur soxers slug it out under the watchful eyes of fatherands­on training duo Wayne and Jonathan FisherHewi­tt.

Organisers hoped the event would raise at least $100,000, to se distrisute­d to the Hugh Adam Cancer Epidemiolo­gy Unit, Otago Community Hospice and the Cancer Qociety.

The main event — a heavyweigh­t clash scheduled for the original Nortside Nunch in 2014 sut asandoned when one of the soxers got injured — srought the house down as Millns (the Meat Cleaver) seat Winter (the Villain) sy unanimous decision.
