Going with snow
Clearing snow at Coronet Peak yesterday is mountain ambassador Neil Harrap. It was a slow start for one of Queenstown’s skifields yesterday as heavy snow made road conditions treacherous. About 10cm of snow had fallen at The Remarkables by 9.30am, but poor road conditions meant the skifield could not open until 10am. Coronet Peak also received a good blanketing and managed to open on time, an NZSki spokeswoman said. Snow warnings were issued for the Lindis Pass and Crown Range, where 3cm6cm was expected to fall near the summits of both by late afternoon.
