Dunedin into top 8, but not Invercargill

Netball: Dunedin and Invercargill had mixed fortunes at the under19 championships in Tauranga yesterday.

Dunedin thumped Harbourside 5618 to qualify for the topeight stage of the competition, but lost 4025 to unbeaten Auckland in its evening match.

Invercargill was unable to follow Dunedin into the finals after it lost 4524 to Hamilton. It did manage to beat Selwyn, 3721, in its later match.

Dunedin plays North Harbour and Christchurch in the top eight section of the tournament today, while the Southlanders play Whangarei and Nelson in bottom eight matches.
