Sugar tax man’s new role
Wellington: Health Minister David Clark has added to his office one of New Zealand’s most vocal advocates for a sugar tax.
Former Dental Association spokesman Rob Beaglehole is working in Dr Clark’s office as an adviser.
His appointment comes as pressure grows on the Government to impose a tax on sugary products.
Dr Beaglehole — dubbed the ‘‘antisugar man’’ in one media profile — has been a longstanding advocate of such a measure. — NZME
