Event grants allocated

MORE than $500,000 has been given to major and premier events set to be held in Dunedin.

The Dunedin City Council’s’s grants subcommittee has allocated $508,700 to 11 events being held in 2018 and 2019.

This year’s funding is an increase of $40,000 from last year.

Successful grants.— Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival ($33,500), Wild Dunedin New Zealand Festival of Nature ($39,700), Dunedin Marathon ($7500), Otago Polyfest ($27,000), New Zealand Pipe Band Championships ($20,000), Dunedin Midwinter Carnival ($36,000), iD Dunedin Fashion Week ($100,000), New Zealand International Science Festival ($75,000), Otago Rally ($60,000), Dunedin Fringe Festival ($50,000), Arts Festival Dunedin ($60,000).
