A unique part of Dunedin’s retail zone
AT the northern end of Dunedin’s central retail zone, Knox Row is among the more interesting shopping areas in the city.
With a unique array of shops, eating places, and other businesses, the block in between Frederick and Albany sts reflects Dunedin’s history, while also embracing the new.
Knox Row is flanked on the western side by Knox Church. The Robert Lawsondesigned Presbyterian church was completed in 1876, and remains the heart of the area.
Besides its Gothic splendour, within the Knox Church grounds there is also a relatively secluded garden with seven benches. It’s a bit of a local secret, but anyone is welcome to bring their lunch to enjoy in these peaceful surroundings.
On the other side of George St, you’ll find a broad array of eating options.
Everyday Gourmet is a longtime favourite Dunedin cafe´, which

The Rob Roy Dairy, on the corner of Albany St, has been a fixture in the area for decades. As well as the usual dairy fare, it incorporates the Rob Roy Dairy Designer Desserts parlour, serving an amazing range of ice creams, thick shakes, frozen yoghurt and more.
Next to the dairy is Inside Out ,a boutique destination for those looking for men’s, women’s, and children’s preloved label clothing. They buy and sell New Zealand and international garments and accessories.
The Olivier Home store is open daily, providing shoppers with competitively priced quality Europeanstyle merchandise. This unique store includes both a street level and basement of enticing items.
