Waiareka stock sale

- SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT

IT was a busy day at this week’s Waiareka stock sale, as there was a large yarding of about 240 store cattle alongside the normal yarding of sheep.

Sheep values remained buoyant with reduced numbers and plenty of demand. Heavy lambs sold very well and a number of pens cracked the $200 mark.

The very good yarding of store cattle was predominantly yearlings, and a big gallery of buyers made for sound prices across the board.
