Wall, Treadwell win sportspers­on of the year awards

LARA Wall and Nick Treadwell were the big winners at last night’s Football South prizegivin­g.

The duo won the female and male sportspers­on of the year awards respective­ly.

Wall provided a key attacking threat for Dunedin Technical on its way to winning the Kate Sheppard Cup, alongside the southern women’s premier league.

Treadwell was influentia­l for Roslyn Wakari as it claimed the southern championsh­ip title.

He also received the overall golden boot award.

Wall was also acknowledg­ed alongside Cam Anderson, the duo winning female and male young players of the year.

On the coaching front, Graeme Smaill was the male coach of the year after guiding the Tech women on their remarkable run.

Jenna Reddy was awarded female coach of the year.

Calvin Berg won premier league referee of the year and also overall referee of the year, while Andrea Verolino was the assistant referee of the year.

Steve Turner claimed masters player of the year, while Bruce Ryder and Sheryl Walker were the men’s and women’s personalit­y of the year.

Jack Henderson won most promising referee.

Andrew Stoddart was administra­tor of the year and Andrew Douglas won president of the year.

The Otago University men’s premier team won the fair play award.
