DUNEDIN CHINESE GARDEN

The Dunedin Chinese Garden is New Zealand’s only authentic Chinese Garden. It is also the only authentic Scholar’s Garden in the southern hemisphere and one of only three outside China. A perfect miniature of a traditiona­l Chinese landscape painting, this garden encapsulat­es the essence of nature. There are many different spots around the garden that will provide beautiful backdrops for your wedding photos.

The traditiona­l high garden wall encloses you and your guests in your own private sanctuary, and the rest of the world seems far removed. The Dunedin Chinese Garden is a flexible venue offering a sophistica­ted memorable setting for up to 100 people.

TOITU OTAGO SETTLERS MUSEUM

Within walking distance of the Octagon and accommodat­ion facilities, Toitu Otago Settlers Museum is the perfect venue for your wedding reception, offering a combinatio­n of unique spaces able to accommodat­e everything from small intimate functions to larger lavish events.

With floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlookin­g Dunedin’s Heritage District, warm heart-rimu floors and Oamaru-stone and local bluestone detailing, the expansive Josephine Foyer is large enough to accommodat­e up to 500 people. The stunning ArtDeco NZR Lounge is a unique location for drinks and nibbles, and great for small social events at any time of the day or evening.

DUNEDIN PUBLIC ART GALLERY

The Dunedin Public Art Gallery is a unique and elegant venue for your civil union or wedding ceremony and reception.

The gallery’s profession­al, friendly and experience­d staff will work with you to put together the right combinatio­n of spaces for you and your guests.

These can include canap´es and a glass of champagne on arrival in Donaghy’s Foyer.
