Victorian Fˆete on November 18

-

SURROUND yourself with the beauty of Oamaru’s stunning Victorian architecture and take a step back in time to sample the nostalgia of the Victorian era.

The Network Waitaki Victorian Feˆte, from 10am4pm on Sunday November 18, is a familyfriendly day with much to entertain all ages.

Quality boutique stalls selling all manner of fine wares will line the streets. Do some early Christmas shopping from the array of truly original gifts.

It’ll be a day jampacked with nonstop entertainment. Worldclass band The Nukes is an alloriginal trio who offer clever heartfelt and humourladen performances that are simply contagious. Part vaudeville, part ratpack, part musical carcrash, The Nukes’ fine blend of folk, bluegrass, reggae, and postpunk is caressed, coaxed, and beaten out of three innocent wee ukuleles.

Captain Festus and his Motley Crew are masters of music and mischief. Family entertainment at its best, musical comedy at its finest. Captain Festus, Miss Lucy Drawers, and Ebenezer Strong are the ultimate rotten entertainers.

Tahu and the Takahes hail from Dunedin with a deepsouth countryblues flavour, led by the inimitable Tahu Mackenzie, whose freespirited musical passion gives the band its unmistakable focal point. This ninepiece band promises to get you smiling, laughing, and dancing inside and out with their infectious story songs.

You will be thrilled by the incredible Victorian costumes, jugglers, street performers, magicians and stilt walkers around every corner, ensuring the day is one to remember.

Allday live music, competitions, family entertainment, New Zealand’s best artisan stalls and street food.

This event is the annual fundraiser for the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust, with proceeds going towards preserving New Zealand’s best collection of heritage buildings. Come along, support a great cause, dress up in your Victorian best, and join in all the fun of the fair!

Entry is free for those under 18 years, but there is a $10 entry fee for everyone else.
