Queries over dump site consultation

WHAT a Palmerston public mess has been made by the Waitaki District Council in selecting a human faeces dump site on Goodwood Rd for mobile homes and caravans.

The council completely ignored the golden rule of successful local government when issues are contentious: consult the community, then consult again, then a third time.

The Waihemo Community Board’s role in this difficult issue has been pitiful. It could/should have led from the front rather than kowtowing to the council bureaucrats.
