Oamaru Harbour

THEY must be kidding. Who thinks it’s a good idea to build a 24/7 truck refuelling depot right in the middle of the Oamaru Harbour district?

Council needs to just ‘‘bite the bullet’’ and move McKeown Oil to the north end business park, where this type of commercial business is more suited. They were the ones who recently extended the lease to McKeown for another 30 plus years.

Wouldn’t it be to everyone’s advantage to create more green space in the harbour area, for everyone to enjoy — locals and tourists alike.

If this is the type of decision the council is making without public consultation, maybe we need a new group of councillors. L. Dustin
