DUNEDINFOUNDED commercial property law firm Anderson Lloyd has for the fifth consecutive year won the midsize law firm award.

The awards were announced at the annual New Zealand Law Awards in Auckland last week.

Established in 1862, Anderson Lloyd has more than 150 partners and staff working in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown.

The 156yearold legal operation now has one of the highest percentages of women partners and the firm is a foundation signatory to the New Zealand Law Society’s Gender Equality Charter.

Chief executive Richard Greenaway said winning the title for a fifth year was testament to the firm’s stability and expertise and that it had established a degree of dominance within the sector.

It was the first time in the award’s history a New Zealand firm had won the category five consecutive times.

‘‘It also reinforces our position as a leading New Zealand law firm working on some of the country’s most complex and important transactions,’’ Mr Greenaway said in a statement.

The firm increased its cap acity to offer highend commercial work by establishing an Auckland office in 2014, now with 20 staff.

‘‘With the addition of our Auckland office, Anderson Lloyd arguably has New Zealand’s largest commercial property team,’’ Mr Greenaway said.
