Perhaps climate change is not the major issue

-

SO much misinformation is currently put about by people with agendas and special interests. Much of it is not totally correct and some is deliberately misleading.

Take the amount of scaremongering spread around about climate change. We are told that 97% of scientists agree about climate change. What is not stated is that very few scientists agree that climate change is affected to any degree by human activity. If you specifically ask the question of many scientists, they would say that there may be consequences of human activity but they do not know how much.

Most of the information on the bad climate change projection is by computer studies, most of which are using incorrect data to work out their results.

In the last 150 years, the average temperature has risen somewhere between 0.8 and 0.9 of a degree. The rise has been steady and is to be expected as the earth is coming out of an ice age.

There are no signs of a sudden and severe rise as the computer projections predict. Furthermore, the world average temperature has been several degrees hotter than currently and mankind wasn’t wiped out.

Earth is a very complex unit and can take care of itself very well. Leaping on to the electric bandwagon will make no difference, especially in many countries that rely on fossil fuels to generate it.

Similarly, decreasing CO2 levels will do more damage than increasing those levels. Plants’ optimum level for CO2 usage is four times the current level; the more CO2 the plants take in, the more oxygen.

If politicians and activists really want to save the planet, the important things are population control and reducing waste. R.J. McKenzie
