Building death toll rises

Istanbul: The death toll after a residential building collapsed in Istanbul last Thursday has risen to 18.

Rescue teams have located one person under the rubble, who is ‘‘probably not alive’’, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said yesterday.

Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said ‘‘a few more’’ people were still under the debris. Both declined to say how many were trapped. — DPA
