A knight’s end
Tenyearold Domenico Robinson, of Wanaka, dispatches Alexandra knight Tim Bosse at the Medieval Festival organised by Wanaka’s Holy Family Catholic School on Saturday.
It was fine and hot for the festival, which had been postponed in November because of bad weather.
The event was designed to raise money for school facilities while providing an afternoon of entertainment which included sword fighting, dancing, spinning, weaving, a puppet show and a wide range of other medieval pastimes.
Many of the reenactments were imported from Dunedin, including the dancing Le Belles Verlaines and the Medieval and Renaissance Society, and from Invercargill, where the knights in armour originated.
