THIS afternoon, in George St, I felt a genuine sense of relief as an electric scooter whizzed past me on the footpath without breaking my legs. As motor vehicles quite properly occupy the centre of the road, perhaps pedestrian­s might feel a good deal safer in the gutter.

IT seems a pretty ‘‘Goofy’’ idea to sack Stephen Larkham as the Wallabies assistant trainer just eight months out from the World Cup. Perhaps Steve Hansen’s reference to Michael Cheika as a ‘‘Mickey Mouse’’ coach holds some truth.

THE problem with the Wof is that it is not necessary and a relic of the Morris Minor era. There are not many countries who demand a Wof. People take responsibi­lity for maintainin­g their vehicles. If pulled over by the police, any fault means a red or yellow sticker.

WHAT a delight to read the front page (ODT, 5.2.19). A beautiful photo of little Ella sharing her bath water with the family horse, Boy. A photo of friendship and trust. I am sure it brought many smiles to your readers.
