Otago Daily Times

Praise for ‘ODT’ coverage in trying times

-

MY first ‘‘not so silent bouquet’’ goes to the management and staff of the Otago Daily Times who are working tirelessly day and night to keep us (the consumers) informed with facts on the state of Covid19 globally, nationally and by regions, and now have included two pages of fun games, quizzes, crosswords and more to help our children and myself fill in some downtime hours.

Thank you team Otago Daily Times, you have my continued support.

My second ‘‘not so silent bouquet’’ goes to my travel agent and friend Natasha Sinclair who lives in Cromwell, Central Otago.

In the quiet of her hotel room in Mumbai, Natasha worked many stressful, sleepless hours organising with travel agents in New Zealand (Vincent George Travel) to get our group home safely but sadly for some, earlier than expected .

Aside from NZ travellers in India, Natasha had clients in South Africa and Tanzania who she was also trying for earlier flights out of as these countries were closing their borders as well.

With thanks to Natasha we all arrived home safely straight into 14day forced isolation.

We have heard from many New Zealanders regarding their experiences trying to get home so wanted to share a little of mine.

Lowburn [Abridged]

I JUST wanted to reiterate, how wonderful it is to have the Otago Daily Times, which we think is the best newspaper in New Zealand.

My husband and I moved to Ashburton two years ago, and have it delivered online to us now.

We both read the digital version online every morning, and then it is my job to take a photo of the Simon Shuker’s Codecracker, then redirect it from my phone to the printer for two copies, so we can have one each to do at lunchtime. Ah, great to have the modern technology.
