Child took illicit drug GBL

Auckland: A child rushed to hospital with critical internal injuries after taking a nearlethal dose of an illicit drug Class B drug GBL, commonly known as fantasy, was due to be discharged.

Police yesterday confirmed inquiries were under way after the drugged child was taken by ambulance to Auckland’s Starship Hospital for emergency treatment on Tuesday.

Police said the South Auckland child suffered critical internal injuries after ingesting a substance and Counties Manukau police were making inquiries and liaising with Oranga Tamariki.
