Auckland rowers headed down

ROWING: Otago will face some added competition at this year’s rowing interprovincials.

Auckland will travel to Lake Ruataniwha for this year’s regatta, beginning today.

A teams event, the interprovincials are traditionally contested between the South Island associations, notably Otago and Canterbury.

Canterbury won last year’s title, as Otago put out a young team after having won four titles in a row.

The regatta consists of 18 races and runs until tomorrow.
