Dead animals dumped in harbour
The unhealthy practice of dumping dead animals into the harbour is said to be annoying some of the residents of the lower harbour at present. A dead horse, which was washed ashore on the beach near to an adjacent settler’s home, is responsible for unpleasant odours.
The settler has lodged a complaint about the nuisance, but redress seems remote. An ineffectual attempt to prohibit such nuisance was made about two summers ago, when numerous cases of condemned frozen rabbits were freely dumped
