Homicide inquiry launched

Auckland: Police investigating the death of a young man in Auckland on Saturday say he was playing music and socialising with friends in a park just before he was killed.

They have opened a homicide investigation into the death of the 21yearold late at night at Jellicoe Park in Manurewa.

Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin said a postmortem was being done and the man’s name had not been released.

He said police had already talked to people about the incident, and others had called in to provide information. — RNZ
