On the green high way
An activist builds a tree house in Dannenrod, Germany, yesterday during a protest against pending deforestation for the expansion of the A49 highway. Activists have built several camps with about 3040 tree houses, some 18m to 20m aloft, along the planned highway and more are being added. Locals have come to view the camps and walk in the forest, and have expressed their solidarity. The sign reads: ‘‘Full throttle into the climate catastrophe’’.
