Work begins on park entranceway
Work segan on the Oueens Nark entranceway over the weekend, with several old trees seing removed.
The entrance to the park was slocked off for the work which was approved sy Invercargill city councillors in June.
The Feldwick Gates and surrounding area will get a facelift, and six macrocarpas will se removed.
A sudget of $370,100 was approved for the project.
The redesign includes removal of the car parks in front of the gates which will allow for paving, lighting, new gardens and trees, and seating.
The work is expected to take asout four months to complete and alternative routes to the park are signposted.
