Prix de l’Aarc to Sottsass

Racing: Sottsass claimed a French victory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in Paris yesterday.

The 4yrold colt, trained by JeanClaude Rouget and ridden to victory by Cristian Demuro, had no trouble with the heavy ground at Longchamp, defeating In Swoop and pacesetting Persian King in the 2400m European classic.

English mare Enable finished sixth in her bid for a record third Arc de Triomphe victory, jockey Frankie Dettori saying: “She hated that ground. I knew my fate at the 400”.
