Create 10,000 jobs/month

-

NATIONAL leader Judith Collins is promising that if she was prime minister, her government would create at least 10,000 jobs a month.

Ms Collins has also promised to bring unemployment figures down to 4% of the workforce by 2025.

Under current projects, The Treasury expects unemployment numbers to hit 7.8% by March 2022, tracking down progressively from then.

Ms Collins has previously outlined several ways a government she would lead would do this, but yesterday was the first time she put a numerical target on addressing unemployment.

Her statement outlined some previously announced business policies which she said would support her party’s 4% goal.

This included repealing the Resource Management Act, tax cuts, the $10,000 newstaff hiring bonus and suspending the minimum wage. — The New Zealand Herald
