■ Marc Weir Mitchell (35), employed, of Dunedin, two disqualified driving offences (Ward St, about 8.25pm, November 20 last year, and Blanket Bay Rd, about 8.30pm, April 5 this year); jointly with another, stealing tools, dog beds and plants (total value $525), Mitre 10 Mega, June 22, overall sentence four months' home detention (with six months postdetention conditions), 100 hours' community work (instead of disqualification), unpaid fines (about $1600) remitted.
■ Rawiri Michael Dawson (39), of Harington Point, possessing offensive weapon (hammer) in circumstances showing intent to use it to commit an offence involving the threat and fear of violence (victim known to him), Dunedin, about 4.50pm, March 9, five months' community detention (curfewed 7pm Fridays to 7am Mondays), 125 hours' community work, nine months' supervision.
■ Eamon Lloyd Cunningham (44), of Dunedin, in possession of weapon (three air rifles) while protection order in force against him, October 4, sentence deferred 12 months. Judge noted the offending ‘‘technical in nature . . . no suggestion of Cunningham using them or owning them, just in possession of them’’, accepted counsel Andy Belcher’s submission Cunningham be given deferred sentence, noted Cunningham had spent a night or two in custody.
