Maori Pharmac adviser
Wellington: Pharmac has appointed its first Maori chief adviser to better uphold the Treaty of Waitangi.
Trevor Simpon, from Tuhoe and Ngati Awa, has been appointed Maori chief adviser, a role created to ensure equitable health outcomes for Maori.
Mr Simpson has been at Pharmac for more than eight years, holding the Maori portfolio as senior health promotion strategist.
He has previously worked in Crown land administration and treaty settlements as well as Maori social work and youth projects. — RNZ
