Your chance to get involved in tennis

-

TENNIS in Dunedin is for people of all ages and abilities, whether you’re starting out or getting back into the game you love.

There are choices for playing at different levels, and plenty of facilities available too — indoors at the Edgar Centre, outdoors at Logan Park or at any of the clubs. Quite simply, there’s the ability to play tennis all year round in the city.

Tennis can offer you a healthy lifestyle, with healthy competition — being outdoors, playing to win, respecting others, and social camaraderie.

For children there’s Tennis Hot Shots, the national starter tennis programme. Smaller courts, shorter racquets, and softer balls mean children can play a proper game of tennis from the moment they step on court. Four tennis clubs around Dunedin offer a Hot Shots programme — Andersons Bay, Balmacewen, Mornington/ Roslyn, and Taieri.

There’s tennis for tertiary students, and for those over the age of 35 who may have played tennis when they were younger and want to get back into it.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams are all still competing at the highest level, proving that tennis remains competitive whatever the age. Our very own Jean Stevens from

Dunedin is the current 85andover tennis world champion!
