Dunedin streets

-

THE twoway configuration of State Highway 1, as proposed by the Dunedin transport project, provides absolutely no ability to pass.

Once stuck behind a stock truck, you’ll have to follow it all the way. It will only take a couple of slow vehicles to turn the city into gridlock.

This will needlessly happen more often with the resultant delays to ambulances getting to the new hospital.

The Southern District Health Board needs to realise that changing the street layout is not going to make the traffic go away. Rather, it will make a bad situation even worse.
