Armour may be delayed
Wellington: The police’s introduction of new body armour might be held up by the Covid pandemic.
The aim was to reduce the threeyear rollout schedule, police told RNZ in a statement.
‘‘Unfortunately the impact of Covid19 on global supply chains may mean that any acceleration could be impacted.’’
Police documents released under the OIA about the Christchurch mosque shootings show 11 reports by officers of injuries caused by the old, heavier body armour. — RNZ
