RMA actions discussed

Environment Southland councillors discussed the Resource Management Act review yesterday at a committee meeting.

Policy and planning manager Lucy Hicks said timing of actions on the review, as recommended by the Resource Management Review Panel, depended on Saturday’s election result.

‘‘If the recommendations are taken whole suite it is pretty dramatic change . . . over the next few years it is something we will pay close attention to.’’

It was unlikely to move quickly, she said.
