Snow expected on passes

Wellington: Another late snowfall was set to descend on South Island alpine roads overnight.

MetService warned the Milford Rd, in Fiordland, could feel the brunt of a bitter front with Canterbury's Arthur's Pass next in line.

As much as 4cm of snow was likely to settle on their upper reaches.

Porters Pass, Lindis Pass and the Crown Range Rd were also expected to get a dusting. — RNZ
