Details of Taupo deaths

Taupo: Police have released information about the two bodies discovered on the shores of Lake Taupo on Friday morning and confirmed their deaths were not suspicious.

The dead were a 49yearold woman and a 50yearold man, both from the Bay of Plenty.

‘‘We’re not in a position to release the names at this stage,’’ a police spokesman said.

Emergency services were alerted to the bodies at about 7am on Friday, near Mere Rd in Taupo. — The New Zealand Herald/RNZ
