Trapping closes bike tracks

MOUNTAINBIKING and walking tracks in the Signal Hill area of North Dunedin will be closed for part of next week for possum trapping.

Contractors will be working in the area from October 27 until October 30 as part of a drive to eradicate bovine tuberculosis. Warning signs will be displayed at track entrances.

Mountain Biking Otago president Kristy Booth said reducing pests such as possums would help flora and fauna and enhance riding areas.
