Queen’s High School
Rewinding back to term three, Queen’s High School finished the winter sport season with some impressive results, the Year 9A and 10A teams winning their grades in the local netball competition. These two teams also competed in the Netball South years 910 zone tournament in Dunedin with Elise Carlie being named in the tournament team.
The Queen’s rugby team placed second in the under15 rugby 10s competition. ‘‘Ignite’’ duo Gracie Ruri and Anika Strange gained first place in the mini crew category at the NZ schools hiphop nationals in Wellington in September.
The Queen’s aerobics team walked away from nationals with some impressive results and a special mention to Billie Allan, who won first in the senior novice and the mostpotential trophy.
Holly Lightfoot was selected in the Otago under13 girls’ basketball A team, Lily PelvinPhillips was selected in the under15 girls’ basketball B team and Elise Carline was selected in the under15 girls’ basketball A team and will be set to play at the national championships in Waikato over Labour Weekend.
Jaya Reardon competed in the Scholastic Surf Championship, becoming the under18 surf champion.
LoganFerris. Madison also won the trophy for technical excellence at the intermediate level.
Congratulations to Emily Prout and Caitlin O’Brien, who teamed up with Mount Aspiring College to compete in the fiveday Hillary Challenge Final recently — an Ultimate Adventure Race set in Tongariro National Park.
Columba College now looks forward to celebrating its pupils at the annual sports awards evening tomorrow (Thursday).
