Quieter time for iSite
RECENT months have been quiet for Dunedin’s visitor information centre.
Visits to the iSite were down 37% in September compared with September 2019. August numbers were down 45% on the same month last year and July down 46% on last year.
The makeup of visitors has changed dramatically since the Covid19 pandemic and border closures disrupted the travel industry from March.
International travellers normally made up about 57% of visitors to the Dunedin iSite and domestic visitors 43% but that had swung around to 90% domestic and 10% international.
