Child hit by car near school
Queenstown: A child was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near a Queenstown school about 8am on Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to Stalker Rd, near Shotover Primary School, about 8am.
The driver was spoken to and inquiries were continuing, she said.
St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said the child was taken to Lakes District Hospital with moderate injuries.
Shotover Primary School principal Ben Witheford said the child was not a pupil at the school.
