London: British punk band The Damned has reformed in its original lineup after more than three decades and the members, all now in their mid60s, will hit the road for a oneoff tour next July.

The group yesterday announced a fourdate UK tour including shows in London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester, which will mark 45 years since the band’s formation.

The band was founded in London in 1976 by drummer Rat Scabies (Christophe­r John Millar), guitarist Brian James (Brian Robertson), lead vocalist Dave Vanian (David Lett) and bassist Captain Sensible (Raymond Ian Burns).

The band made its live performanc­e debut supporting the Sex Pistols at London’s 100 Club in July 1976. — Reuters
