No charges after car hit child

The driver of a vehicle which allegedly hit a child in Shotover Country on Tuesday morning will not be prosecuted.

Police were called to Stalker Rd, near Shotover Primary School, about 8am and the child, not a pupil of the school, was taken to Lakes District Hospital with moderate injuries.

Police said the incident was ‘‘not the fault of the driver’’.
