SO, Dunedin's answer to Donald Trump is at it once again.

Most likely, come Tuesday, this too will be ‘‘fake news’’ and Cr Lee Vandervis will be the victim of a ‘‘witch hunt’’.

No matter that this is the latest in a long string of similar occurrences — he will yet again steadfastly refuse to accept responsibility for his behaviour.

He, like Trump, does have strong form in this regard and hopefully both will be out of office very soon. Pete Jenkins
