Loss of $45.9m for CA
Cricket: Cricket Australia said yesterday it posted a $A45.9 million ($NZ48.7 million) deficit in the last financial year and could face a $A120 million dip in its projected revenue for the 2021 period due to the impact of the Covid19 pandemic.
CA, which saved about $A40 million during the pandemic through a range of costcutting measures, including the axing of 40 jobs, said the deficit for the year ending June 30 was in line with budgetary expectations.
Australia was scheduled to host the Twenty20 World Cup this year but the event was postponed to 2022 because of the pandemic. — AAP
