Mixed start for Otago masters team

Golf: Otago had a win and a loss on the first day of the national masters tournament in Hamilton yesterday.

The Otago side started well and beat Waikato 3 and ahalf to 1 and ahalf in the morning. Travis Cook won 2 and 1, Rodney Krahenbring won 4 and 3, Steve Horn won 2 and 1 and John McIntee squared his game. Mike Wray lost 5 and 4.

But in the afternoon the Otago side went down to Bay of Plenty 4 and ahalf to a half.

Horn lost 3 and 2, Wray lost 2 and 1, Cook lost 3 and 2, while Krahenbring lost 1 down on the final hole after he led for most of his match. McIntee again finished all square.
