Not convinced iwi deserves water control
NGAI Tahu ignored its rangatiratanga over responsibilities and obligations relating to freshwater when it was given the magnificent Balmoral Forest in North
Canterbury.
It cut it down and substituted dairy farming on that light gravelly soil.
The pine trees were converting CO and improving the atmosphere, as well as delivering carbon credits.
Claiming rangatiratanga over freshwater is ironic if they continue this practice.
