Quacker crash sequence

- JOHN GIBB

WHY did three ducks cross the road in Dunedin on Saturday night?

Beakcause . . . well actually noone knows, but the final score was: ducks 3 (uninjured), cars 2 (damaged).

It was a flap, snap, crash, crash result.

Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said a 47yearold woman stopped her car on Kaikorai Rd at 6pm to let the ducks cross safely, but a second car driven by 55yearold man crashed into the back of hers.

Another 55yearold man was apparently distracted by looking at the outcome of a previous crash when his car struck the back of the second vehicle, Snr Sgt Bond said.

It is understood noone was badly hurt in the accidents, which are still being investigated by police.
