Record digitisation
Invercargill: Invercargill City Councillors will discuss today the establishment of a dedicated inhouse digitisation team to sort out about 30,000 property files the council has.
A report from the council’s customer and environment manager Darren Edwards says the project began in December 2015.
The primary driver was to improve efficiency.
To date, a small inhouse team has digitised about 24% of the property files.
‘‘At this current rate of progress it is estimated that it will be 2031 before all property files are digitised,’’ he said.
The intention was to have a focused team to council deliver the project by July 2025.
The project was estimated to cost $3 million.
