Remembrance Day marked

-

Poppies illuminate the sails of the Sydney Opera House at dawn yesterday as Australia marks 102 years since the Armistice that ended World War 1.

As the sun rose, a lone bugler played the Last Post.

The guns fell silent at 11am on November 11, 1918 after more than four years of warfare.

Services were also held across Australia.

In Canberra, Prime Minister Scott Morrison laid a wreath at a service in Canberra. — Reuters
