-

Wellington: The Labour Party has appointed a new general secretary after the previous one was managed out of the job.

Andre Anderson was appointed to the job in October 2018 but RNZ understands he left the role some months ago and his assistant, Dianna Lacy, has been acting in the job since.

Yesterday the party appointed Rob Salmond, who has previously worked in the Prime Minister’s office and the Labour leader’s office.

Mr Anderson was general secretary during the period in which it was alleged a Labour member had sexually assaulted another. — RNZ
