Hotere exhibition opens
GovernorGeneral Dame Patsy Reddy opens the ‘‘Ralph Hotere: Atete (to resist)’’ exhibition at the Dunedin Public Gallery yesterday, celebrating a variety of work of the late artist. Seventy of Hotere’s works are on display on the first floor of the gallery. Gallery director Cam McCracken said the exhibition covered such themes as use of colour and materials, journeys of the artist, protest and dissent. It will move to the Christchurch Art Gallery at the end of February.
